Join us for a night of TED. From Wikipedia: TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) is a global set of conferences owned by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, formed to disseminate "ideas worth spreading." Video 1: Paul Romer: The world's first charter city? Video 2: James H Kunstler dissects suburbia Arrive between 7:00 and 7:15 for introductions and to get settled in. We will begin the first video at 7:30. The video is approximately 20 minutes long. After we watch, we'll discuss for approximately 40 minutes (it'll depend on how much we want to discuss... it could be considerably less, but we'll cap it at no more than 60 minutes) Once we're done with the first video, we'll watch the second video (also approximately 20 minutes long) and discuss (same parameters). Our home is small and humble... be prepared to get cozy... some of us will probably end up sitting on the floor. |

Join us for dinner at Daawat for their nightly Indian buffet. Note that ECC policy is to add 23% to the bill to cover 5% GST plus 18% gratuity. We try to get separate bills whenever we can, but that is usually not possible. The coordinator will calculate everyone's total based on what they ordered plus the 23%. If you disagree with this policy, please do not register for this event. |

EOC - Found Footage Festival
This was quite possibly one of the more unusual events run by the EOC, but if you are thinking of getting a pet ferret or want to be ready for delivering a baby in your police car, then this was the event for you! Some of the clips had to be watched through your fingers, but there were some hilarious stuff, and you can't beat a good bellylaugh on a Saturday night..... |

See local group "Gateway Big Band" at Yardbird Suite. Show starts at 8:00. There will be two sets with an intermission, and the show should be done at around 10:00PM. The coordinator will be there at 7:00 to get a good table. Please try to arrive as close to 7:00 as possible. If you haven't met the coordinator before, please review her volunteer photo, and look for her at the venue wearing a white with black ECC bandana. Optional pre-show dinner at Langano Skies (Ethiopian cuisine). When registering, please indicate if you will join us for dinner or meet us at the show. I will NOT be purchasing our tickets ahead of time. We will (hopefully) get tickets at the door. As of April 14th, tickets have not yet been printed. |

COC - Event of the Century (or 9/10ths of one) - Legendary Ed's 90th Birthday Bash!
Happy Birthday dear Ed! So many COC members have shared wonderful outdoor adventures with you through the years since you became a member of this great club. Many of us have come to call you 'good friend.' It's always a pleasure to spend time with you, Ed. Your good nature, willingness to help out with club matters and on events, your patience with us slowpokes, and your zest for life and the outdoors are enjoyed and appreciated by all who know you. We look forward to sharing many more adventures with you in the years to come. ~Marg |
