Doggiepalooza!

The day went to the dogs at COC's first ever Doggiepalooza!! It was a beautiful day, although a bit chilly especially for the little guys, but that did little to deter them from having a good time. There were a few dog tussles, but for the most part everyone was on their best behaviour. Especially when treats were at stake! Special thanks to our three judges and brand new COC members who took on their role with enthusiasm - Jen C, Twila T and Holly T. It was hard to pick winners because every dog was special, however we did have 10 hotly contested categories...

And the winners were:
Best Trick: Eskie, for her 'high five' and dancing moves
Most Obedient: Magic, for her ability to not only come on command, but was able to stay without being held
Best Dressed: Kitty and Diesel for their matching bandannas and hats; Cheryl also wore her matching outfit
Best Retriever: There were a lot of competitors, but first prize went to Zena for her ability to catch and retrieve when it wasn't even her turn!
Goofiest Dog: Cabo, for wearing his goggles with pride
Mr. Congeniality: Cairo, for being a super relaxed generally sweet guy
Grand Dame of the Park: Chelsea, for letting everyone know where things stand (and helping herself to some treats)
Most Unusual: This was a tight race between Quinn, the Catahoula and Jasper, the Portuguese Water Dog, but majority ruled and Jasper trotted away with the prize
King of the Park: Buddy (I) the exuberant Staffordshire pup got extra friendly with all the participants
Most Courageous: Buddy (II) the Cocker Spaniel cross puppy also tried to get friendly with all the participants - size was not an issue!

But every dog was a winner just for coming out and showing us all how to have a good time, so everyone went home with a prize. Rocky, as co-leader, would have liked to have added a few words, but he fell asleep shortly after getting home and hasn't budged since. I'm sure the other Doogiepalooza participants spent the rest of the day doing the same thing!
