Notes Actions
This is a great hike to do in April when mountain options are limited. It's warm - a nice appetizer for upcoming summer hiking, and an interesting change of scenery. There were a few spring flowers, including lots of crocuses, and one odd yellowish sunflower-like thing. We didn't see any ticks today, though(unless someone found one after the hike), which was nice.

We entered the canyon on the west side of the parking lot, and followed the well-worn trails back to the far end of the canyon where it narrows into a single stream. We followed the narrow part of the canyon for as far as we could - about 3.5km all together, then turned around and headed back. At an opportune spot, we climbed up out of the canyon and followed the farm field along the rim for a while until we found another decent spot to re-descend into the canyon. Heading out, we hung to the east side of the canyon, and then hiked back to the parking lot.
