Annette's favorite hike has joined the ranks of my favorite hikes as well - this was definitely a good (albeit long) one. Amazing scenery which completely changed several times - it was like going on five different hikes in one day. The stream crossing with the missing bridge was interesting - in both directions. A dicey balancing act on a high rushing stream on slippery and rickety deadfall. Hoo-boy - the fun (no, I'm not being sarcastic)! We saw some big fat marmots, a ton of mountain sheep and even a couple of mountain goats. Gayle was a fabulous pace-car, making my day soooo easy for keeping our group of 9 together, and doubled as a bear repellant to rival Karen H. We almost gave up before reaching the pass because of some snow higher up, but Andrew stamped his feet and threatened to hold his breath until we all went up and boy were we glad we did - that's why you DO a pass hike is to see the mountains on the other side!! The snow and climb weren't bad at all and at the actual top of the pass it was clear enough that we sat up their to have lunch #3.

A fabulous group and an amazing day - thanks for coming out.
