Skiing at the Canmore Nordic Centre
Sadly, I have to report that the Canmore Nordic Centre gets one thumb down from me. It was a great day and the scenery was to die for, which was the saving grace. However, I think a facility that charges $7.50 for a day pass to ski there could take a lesson or two from the FREE facilities in K-Country and maybe... groom their trails in such a way that it's not like skiing on concrete (snow ploughing was practically impossible) add some trail name signs so you know which trail you're on and which trails you're looking at (they have a few trail maps at major intersections, but most of their intersections are mapless, and there are NO trail name signs at all) add some "blue", "green" and "black" signs to the trails so that if/when you're trying to figure out what trail to take (see point above) this bit of helpful information would be available Look for more Canmore Nordic Centre events from me ONLY in the case where there's no good snow to be had elsewhere and I'm desperate to go skiing. On a happier note, it was a FANTASTIC group out today and awesome to have Rika out again on an event. I'll be setting up more Thursday events so that she can join us sometime. -- Rhonda |
