Holy tick-filled canyon Batman! Tis the season for ticks in Horseshoe Canyon, apparently, as we found no less than FIVE ticks ON US during the day. Thorough tick checks ensued at the end of the hike.

Rhonda M and I decided to combine our two groups as our numbers dwindled, so we had a total of 25... a bit of a large group, but not necessarily necessary to take two separate groups.

True to my history with Horseshoe, we did NOT do the complete canyon today. I have done it three times before, always starting on the west leg of the canyon, and never successfully find our way back up the east leg. So, today I figured I'd be smart and start down the east leg, and as before, I am not sure if we overshot the end of the canyon, or didn't go far enough (we suspect not far enough), but we ended up doing an out-and-back today in the east leg of the canyon, including an interesting up-loop-down through a farmer's "stubble field", which our resident farmboy assured us was a-ok because, being "stubble", we would not be damaging the farmer's crop in any way.

A few of us decided to try for a stop at the Tea House on the way back to town, but alas, it was closed.
