This was a fantastic evening! The first band was called the Djembabes - a group of women drummers. They are newly formed, and were expecting to perform for the first time in June, but they were awesome anyway! The next band were kind of a funky/jazzy rock group - very good! The base player is a musician that I'm familiar with - Smooth from the Mad Bomber's Society, but I don't know the name of this band. They were really good, though. Then, the belly dancers... three gals who I used to dance with until a couple years ago - they were fantastic, and Heather, Steph and Cheryl got to get an eyeful of some of the stuff they're currently learning. Al and Fonda are absolute sweeties, and I'm thrilled to have been a part of helping to send them to Africa for their volunteer term. Lastly, one of our group went home with a fanTAStic print called "Eagle's Desire" from the silent auction.
