Flexibility is the word of the day.

For those of you who have heard of my Good Weather Karma, I'll let you in on the behind-the-scenes truth about that. I had planned to do Fullerton Loop out by Bragg Creek today. The forecast called for rain up until the day before and then it changed to cloudy, so I decided to go ahead with the event. Well, it was apparent this morning that the forecast was wrong and that torrential rains were hitting everywhere around Calgary. Mark "gently" pointed out at the carpool that we "may not" be able to hike in the Bragg Creek area. That, plus a well-timed phone call from Joel (who was heading out with one of the Stanley Glacier hikes) telling me that the weather was clearer out toward Canmore, led me to suggest to the group that we should maybe head out west and do Heart Creek. We decided that we would assess the sky at the turnoff for Highway 22, and likely pass on by to head out to Canmore. If it was gross there, too, we'd just settle for coffee in Canmore.

Well, true to my "Good Weather Karma" (otherwise known as "flexibility" - there's that word), we actually got in a good hike today. We did Heart Creek just on time for the weather to move in. We had a brief discussion about going up to do Grassi Lakes as well, but voted to just hit the coffee shop in Canmore instead. We enjoyed some snacks and warm beverages and then headed back to Calgary.
