  • 6:15pm meet at the main ticket gate (I'll get exact location very soon.)
  • 7:00pm we'll check out the fashion show presented by Kanes Harley Davidson. (We won't watch the whole thing if it's no good.)
  • 8:00pm we'll wander over and check out the Miss World of Wheels contest presented by The Back Alley. (We won't watch the whole thing if it's no good...yeah right!)

You're not required to stick with the group the whole time but you should plan on meeting back up with the group at the time indicated above.

So many amazing cars and trucks to view at this show and who even knew there's a "Fiero Owners Club of Calgary" club...I guess there's a little something for someone everywhere.
If you get out to this show in the future then hopefully you'll have and chance to stroll along with Brent or Werner and learn about the interesting vehicles they or their friends have owned. I gotta find me a Rambler (thanks for the tip Brent!)
CCC - Young@Heart Documentary at Cardel - Expect the Unexpected

Meet at 2:00pm Movie starts at 2:30 p.m.

Young@Heart is a New England senior citizens chorus that has delighted audiences worldwide with their covers of songs by everyone from The Clash to Coldplay. Based in Northampton, Massachusetts, the group is made up of two dozen spirited seniors who specialize in reinterpreting rock, punk and R & B classics from a unique perspective. Their lineup includes former schoolteachers, executives, doctors and food service workers, and the chorus is guided by their longtime director Bob Cilman. With less than two months to go until a one night only concert in their hometown, the performers struggle with the new lyrics and unfamiliar melodies of seven new songs. Official Web Site.

We saw this film in the theatre several months ago, and I cannot stress enough how FANTASTIC it is. Their choir master chooses songs for them that completely warp the meaning of the song when it is sung by a group of seniors. I especially love the chorus' rendition of:
I Wanna Be Sedated
Another favorite: Road to Nowhere
And another: Golden Years
Here's the trailer

I loved this film the first time I saw it (with CCC, of course), and seeing it for the second time didn't diminish the enjoyment. In fact, I think I enjoyed it even more for sharing it with a great group of CCC members who weren't shy about laughing, crying and clapping (in all the right places). Thanks to all who came out. :)
