CCC - Steve McQueen Band at Bugaboo Creek + Michelle's Birthday A band started by singer/songwriter Steve McQueen (real name), who has been bringing a tonic blend of power soul and arena rock style to rave reviews from audiences for the last few years. The sound is a hybrid of classic rock influences with a modern approach, creating something new and improved taking today's rock n' roll to a whole new level. The songwriting is passionate and down to earth with at times, a working class sensibility to it. It has been described as hypnotically melodic, yet bravely diversified. There may be guests attending who are not members of the CCC. Thanks to everyone for coming out. Lots of fun and good tunes!
CCC - Stepping Out at Pumphouse Theatre Stepping Out is a funny play about the lives, laughs and loves of a group of women (and one man) attending a weekly tap-dance class in a dingy church hall. Voted Comedy of the Year by the London Evening Standard in 1984. "...the observations so acute, the tiffs so human, the revelations so likely." Daily Telegraph When I was selecting the shows I wanted to see this season, I picked this one because of my own experiences teaching adult tap dancing classes. It didn't occur to me, however, that I would recognize one of my own students performing in the show! I taught a class in spring of 2006 and had a family sign up together - they're all performers in Calgary's amateur theatre and wanted to take some tap dancing to add to their acting resumes. Well, color me surprised to recognize the father putting his skills to good use in the show! It was a proud, proud moment for me. :) Thanks to everyone who came out to the show with me. -- Rhonda
