Marty and I have been excited about trying night skiing at the Nordic Centre. We were bit by the bug on Marg's trip to Kimberly at Christmas 2006, and as soon as we confirmed the Nordic Center lit a few trails at night, we were IN! Bonus for us... seven other people were also "IN", and we had a fantastic time. It was a bit cool at -13, but not bad at all. The sky was perfectly clear and beautiful. A few brave skiiers went a short ways past the end of the lit trail and Sophie remarked it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen (everything was lit up from the moon). Note to us for next time, and for anyone else wanting to go... they shut the lights off at ten after nine. Carpooling at 5:30 would be better as we didn't actually start skiing 'til after 7:30. -- Rhonda |
